Twenty-Five

What a difference a day makes!  As of this writing, 25 kids have been born here at Big Pink.  Sleep?  What's that, and why do I miss it so?

We have one little doeling who lives in the house for now.  She was weak this morning, so we scooped her up and now she's our bottle baby.  We will transition her to the great outdoors, of course, but for now she's here.  And she's really cute.  Frodo the Dog really likes her, too.  Too bad he can't be the one in charge of giving her the bottle.

So this is my birthday week, as I mentioned earlier.  With all the goats being born, I haven't had a lot of sleep.  So please keep that in mind when you look at this photo of my leftover cake.  I'm sleep-deprived, and I'm pretty sure that qualifies as a mental handicap.  Right?

So, what is the jug of water for? Is there warm water in it to keep the little guy warm?

This is sooo weird. I think I went to school with you. I found you on a google search. You and I weren't friends, but I was class of '89 at Johnson. Am I right?

Back then, I'd never have taken you for a future mother of nine. Wow! Fair play to you. Take care, and do up a soap page. That's what I was googling for!

Yes indeed, the water bottle was to keep the little critter warm.

And PJN, that is just so weird! I was class of '89 and now I'm just dying to know who you are! I'll have to dig out my yearbooks, if I can find them. I have a suspicion that they are in a box somewhere in the barn and that the barn cats have defiled them, but I'm not sure. Oh, and back then, I would never have taken me for a future mother of nine, either.

Anyway, yes, I will have a soap page up soon, I promise! In the meantime, is there anything I can answer for you?

Hi,

I was just doing a very general soap recipe google.
A very good friend of mine is a pretty serious soapmaker. I can't even remember what it was I was typing in as a keyword that caused your site to come up.

I sounded bossy when I told you to get a soap page up! My apologies for that. Take your time:-)

I really don't keep up with anyone from Johnson High. I've turned the page (and closed the book). Hard (and sort of depressing) to believe next year will be our 20 year reunion! I remember you were a champion swimmer and diver. You look the same, although a lot less punk (for lack of a better word).

Anyway, take care. You've a beautiful farm and family. My life is very different from yours, but still good!

You didn't sound bossy to me, PJN! I really do want to get a soap page up and running. I just need a clone is all.

I don't keep up with anyone from Johnson, either, unless you count my sister (which you should!) and another friend from a couple of years ahead of me.

Still dying to know who you are, though. :-)

Okay, the gig is up. I think I am starting to sound like a weird stalker! I am sorry. Never intended to be secretive, though I have worded my initial posts as such. I am Peggy Niederer. You're probably thinking, "Who?" I know, I know. When I was in high school, I had a complete disinterest in it's inner workings. I basically went because I didn't want to be stupid and so my mother wouldn't get arrested. Now, here I am excited to find someone I went to school with.

Anyway, this only happened one other time. I was looking up mortgages and, lo and behold, up popped Keenan Raverty. Ha! I didn't contact him, as it was his place of employment's website. THAT would be weird.

Anyway, you blew my mind. All those lovely kids, big farm, animals. I hope you're happy and healthy and I wish you the best of luck.

Wow, that is weird to bump into not one, but TWO former classmates on the internet!

Your name is familiar, but as I still have not found the box with my yearbooks in them, I can't picture you. You probably look different anyway; I know I do.

I hope you keep checking in here, because one day I really will have a soap page up and running. My personal goal for this is by the end of this month.

    Who's that?

Much of the blame belongs to me,  Alison.  I am:  Wife to 1 man, Mom to 10 kids, and Farmer to a great many critters.
